Foremark Performance Chemicals hosts plant tour for U.S. Congressman Brian Babin

On August 27, 2019, Foremark Performance Chemicals, along with the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Political Mobilization team, had the honor of hosting U.S. Congressman Brian Babin and his district director, Kelly Waterman at the La Porte plant. Other distinguished guests in attendance included: Jerry Mouton, Jr. – Mayor of Deer Park; Jeff Wagner – Mayor of Pasadena; Fred Welch – Vice President of the Economic Alliance for Houston Port Region; David Wade – Harris County Industrial Liaison for the Office of Homeland Security and Security Management; Hector Rivero – President and CEO for the Texas Chemical Council; James Griffin – Marketing Vice Chancellor of San Jacinto College; and Sydney Rubin – Director of Political Mobilization for the ACC. 

The ACC’s Political Mobilization team connects elected officials to businesses in their communities and showcases the importance and needs of the industry. During the visit, team members from Foremark Performance Chemicals and elected officials took the opportunity to share and discuss the value of the chemical industry in the community. “It’s a great opportunity for chemical industry friends and colleagues to come together to discuss current challenges facing the industry as well as opportunities”, says Sydney Rubin, Director of Political Mobilization for the ACC.   

Guests were given a plant site and application lab tour by Foremark CEO Randy Owens and Brian Wilson, VP of Operations. Following the tour, Congressman Babin participated in a Town Hall and a Q&A session with Foremark employees. Topics covered were the company’s safety and environmental record, new products, innovation, sustainability, and future plans for growth. He also shared insight on legislative and regulatory issues impacting the U.S. and the 36^th district in which he serves.
